چکیده

To meet the growing computation-intensive applications and the needs of low-power, highperformance systems, and the number of computing resources in single-chip has enormously increased, because current VLSI technology can support such an extensive integration of transistors. This paper presents adaptive routing selection strategies suitable for network-on-chip (NoC). The main prototype presented in this paper use west first routing algorithm to make routing decision at runtime during application execution time. Messages in the NoC are switched with a wormhole cut-through switching method, where different messages can be interleaved at flit-level in the same communication link without using virtual channels. Hence, the head-of-line blocking problem can be solved effectively and efficiently. Congestion estimation of router input ports in Network-on-Chip for efficient virtual allocation

Effective and congestion-aware routing is vital to the performance of network-on-chip. The efficient routing algorithm undoubtedly relies on the considered selection strategy. If the routing function returns a number of more than one permissible output ports, a selection function is exploited to choose the best output port to reduce packets latency. In this paper, we introduce a new selection s...

Design of a Low-Latency Router Based on Virtual Output Queuing and Bypass Channels for Wireless Network-on-Chip

Wireless network-on-chip (WiNoC) is considered as a novel approach for designing future multi-core systems. In WiNoCs, wireless routers (WRs) utilize high-bandwidth wireless links to reduce the transmission delay between the long distance nodes. When the network traffic loads increase, a large number of packets will be sent into the wired and wireless links and can...

New priority-based Arbitration Methods for Appropriate Input Selection to Improve the Performance of Network-on-Chip (NoC)

Routing strategies have a key role on communication and performance of the on-chip interconnection networks. Typically, each routing technique can be divided in two parts: output selection and input selection. Several efforts have been done attempting to improve output selection part. But this paper focuses on the improvement of input selection part and investigation of its impact on routers, r...
